Schools hosting a trainee and other ITT opportunities

We are always looking for schools who would be willing to offer placements to trainees.

We are working with 3 ITT providers:

  • UCL (Secondary)
  • Roehampton (Primary)
  • Inspiring Future Teachers (Primary SCITT)

We have a track record for recruiting trainees of a high calibre, these trainees frequently go on to be employed by our local placement schools. By hosting a trainee in your school it enables you to tailor the training they receive so that it prepares them for continued employment if they chose to remain with you into their ECT years and beyond.

If you would be interested in hosting a trainee for a long or short placement then please complete this form or get in contact. We would love to hear from you.

Key information:

  • You will be paid for the placements you offer.
  • Mentors will be expected to attend 20 hours of mentor training as per the new ITT framework.

Intensive Training & Practice

Does your school have a particular area of expertise they would like to share? Part of the new ITT expectations is around trainees increasing their depth of knowledge on a particular area of the teaching standards. We are looking for schools who would be willing to host trainees for up to a week to share some of this excellent practice.

There is funding available for schools who can offer these intensive placements.  Contact us directly to find out how much your school could receive: itt@chesterton.wandsworth.sch.uk

ITT subject facilitators

We will be running elements of the training for all 3 ITT providers and we need expert teachers to help deliver this content. If you or someone from your school would be interested in delivering any ITT training to the trainees please get in contact.  There is funding available for the Facilitator time.
